Late December 2001 in the middle of a hot South African summer, and the height of the busy tourist season, two cars filled with gunmen effortlessly breach Johannesburg International Airport’s security, gaining access to the tarmac. Their raid has all the planning of a military operation - the villains wear balaclavas and carry AK-47's and .9mm's. Their target is a KLM 747 filled with 300 passengers awaiting take off. The men know what they want and where to find it. They storm the airplane, access the hold, and make off with close to twenty million dollars in hard currency, jewellery and diamonds. The loot is loaded onto a waiting pickup truck - shots are exchanged with security guards but the gang makes a clean getaway.
